Job Description


The role of a Salesforce Data Analyst is to work alongside your peers as a technical resource to ensure the technical delivery of the project or assignment you may work on.  The Analyst is responsible for data management, conversion and migration using a best practice agile methodology by:

  • Having worked on multiple projects dealing with various data-related assignments
  • Understanding business requirements and translating these into data-based solutions 
  • Contributing towards the technical architecture and design of the project or app being developed from a data perspective
  • Implementing agreed design of the project, including:
    • Data Management
    • Data Conversion and Cleansing
    • Data Migration
  • Being ready to work as individual contributor
  • Working as a team and always helping your colleagues deliver their workload
  • Being a subject-matter expert in one or more web development frameworks
  • Escalating any issues to your line manager promptly


  • Specialise in collecting, organising, and analysing data from various systems
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the interrelationships of data and multiple data domains
  • Create thorough documentation artifacts and maintain same for duration of project
  • Identify and document data migration paths and processes
  • Maintain industry/technical knowledge base and facilitate/maintain industry relationships
  • Demonstrate commitment to providing customer-focused quality service
  • Support assigned systems through transition period
  • Perform other duties as deemed relevant based upon experience to fulfil customer needs
  • Develop and perform standard queries to ensure data quality, identify data inconsistencies, missing data and resolve as needed
  • Standardise data naming, data definitions and modelling
  • Perform data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing, and analysis
  • Collect, profile, collate, and map appropriate data for usage in new or existing solutions as well as for ongoing data analysis activities
  • Interpret Customers functional and information needs and turn them into functional or data requirements, process models, etc.
  • Leading by example by adhering to company financial policies regarding time and expense submission and (but not limited to) punctuality, dress code and notification of whereabouts, annual leave and absence
  • Having a level of technical experience and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively with commercial staff, technical strategy and architecture staff, and third-party developers as well as makepositive peers

Required Capabilities

  • High aptitude in analytical and logical thinking
  • Demonstrated experience with data models and data mapping
  • Experience with Unified Modelling Language (UML), including Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Sequence Diagrams, and Data Flow Diagrams (DFD)
  • Understanding of XML, SQL, Data Modelling Language (DML), and Data Definition Language (DDL)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Demonstrated ability to produce highly detailed, comprehensive documentation artefacts
  • Client-focused attitude
  • High-level knowledge of enterprise IT organisational, business, and technical environments
  • Ability to analyse processes and recommend improvements as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline with five (5) or more years of experience related to this position
  • Must be willing to travel up to 30%
  • 1-5 years of demonstrated experience in data analysis, data manipulation, and decision support
  • Knowledge and application of relational database concepts
  • Experience or exposure to Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) and/or Business Intelligence
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Skilled at completing technical design via iterative mockups
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (esp. Word and Excel)
  • Openness to learning new skills and software as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous work flows while maintaining quality output and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new and exciting technologies with little assistance

Desired Capabilities

  • Experience with ETL tools and procedures (any tool), preferably Talend or Informatica Cloud
  • Prior experience working with data in the Cloud, preferably
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate at different levels of the organisation
  • Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of decision-making, data preparation, and processes
